If you work with me, here is what you can expect. I will help you produce long lasting relief from anxiety, stress, or panic. Psychotherapy with me is a collaborative process; we will work together to identify specific concerns and develop concrete skills and techniques for coping with anxiety, stress, or panic. Together we will discover how anxiety, stress, or panic have impacted your life, your partner’s life, your job, and your social life. The plan is to give control back to you so the world is a much more enjoyable place. As you may already know, I believe plans are critical to success.

Let’s talk about the first session. This session is where my clients tell me 75 things and usually don’t feel like they have made any sense or that I have any idea what they said. I tell everyone this is normal. By the time someone comes to therapy, they have been wading through a sea of thoughts. Trust me, I am planning for you and I will help you sift through all of it. By the way, I take really good notes.
This is the assessment phase, and will last between 1-5 sessions, depending on the complexity and severity of your case. I will be gathering information about you and what concerns you want to work on. We will also be gathering information about your current and past physical and emotional health to gain deeper understanding of your situation.
Phase II is GIVING CONTROL BACK TO YOU. The way to change starts with understanding. I will guide you through the basics of understanding anxiety, stress and panic.
We will be developing our PLAN to manage anxiety, stress and panic. My aim is to give you the skills needed to manage anxiety, stress and panic rather than nod my head.
This is when the magic or the “ah-ha” moments happens. If you know who Oprah is you know what an “ah-ha” moment is. My one disclaimer would be that these “ah-ha” moments happen differently for everyone and in his or her own time. But, we don’t want to miss them!
Phase IV is Practicing new skills and putting them into action. My aim is to focus on developing lifelong habits to manage anxiety, stress and panic.
Phase V is long-term relief!
